Photograph of Plymouth Rock

Plymouth Rock was not always the famous symbol it is today.

For a long time, people just stepped on the rock
because it was near the busy waterfront of Plymouth.

The rock has been moved around, broken and pieces
of it taken by many visitors. No wonder it is so small!
